after almost an hour of waiting (for him), we went to the famous char kway tiao stall at Lor Selamat. it's ard 10-15 mins walk away from our hotel but the sun was scorching hot, making the short walk really unbearable.
we ordered only a plate as both of us were feeling under the weather. we were waiting excitedly for the food to come. but when the lady came with the char kway tiao, our jaws almost dropped. it costed us RM6.50 for a plate and the serving was ridiculously small! fyi, the ave cost of food in penang is ard RM2.50-4 only.
the both of us, ok maybe only me, were super pissed. initially i had my cammy on hand ready to take the pic of the food but the mood was all gone when the food came. then again, the char kway tiao was seriously damn good, we swear. you can even taste the "wok hei" cos they used charcoal. but at the same time, we told ourselves not to go back to let them "tok" us again. we even go to the extent of using various ways to convince that they were out to cheat us money cos we were tourists.
it was only until we finished the food and walked to the stall, then we realised the prices were actually stated on the board. RM6, RM6.50 & RM8.50. HAHAHAHA. anw, most, if not all, of the patrons were tourists or from other parts of m'sia. cos the prices were relatively high as compared to other stalls.
the sun was really hot that day and both of our feet were feeling burnt from the soaking of sunlight, so we decided to head to Gurney Plaza.
it was quite a long way to Gurney from the stop we alighted. we rested our feet at G Hotel that was beside Gurney.
the lobby was hugh, seats were comfy and toilets were clean. a far cry from the place where we stayed. hahaha.
actually... the main purpose of going to Gurney is to have...
A&W curly fries!!!! but the fries were not fresh nor crispy. =( we wanted to walk ard and wait for the hawker centre, which only opened at ard 7, but hunny's cough was quite bad and so we left Gurney early at 4 plus.
we had alot of time to spare that night. but time passed quickly by surfing the net at the lobby, planning for the next day etc.
我也不甘示弱！haha.
we ended the night early. however, hunny was coughing so badly that we slept at ard 1am. sigh. i was so scared that night... cos of one sentence that he said.
